Hutan Lipur Kawang telah diwartakan pada 16 Mach 1957 bertujuan mengekalkan kawasan hutan tua bagi menampaung kepelbagaian sepsis tumbuh-tumbuhan, kawsan tadahan air dan sumberhasil hutan untuk kegunaan pendududk tempatan.
Terletak di kg. Tanaki (Jln Lama Papar ke Kota Kinabalu) lebih kurang 30Km dari bandaraya Kota Kinabalu dan 23Km dari pekan Papar
Yuran masuk ke Hutan Lipur adalah sebanyak RM2.00 sahaja. Semua kemudahan awam adalah percuma kecuali untuk aktiviti bermalam, sewa dapur dan Chalet.
Antara kemudahan yang terdapat di tempat ialah Pondok, kemudahan BBQ, Chelet, Kolam mandi, Tapak Khemah dan beberapa kemudahan asas.
Selain itu, pengunjung boleh menjalankan pelbagai aktiviti lain seperti mandi-manda, sukaneka, meredah hutan, melawat air terjun, melihat Gua Kelawar dsb.

- From KK Town, go towards Inanam Township using Tuaran Road (about 15mins drive).
- In Inanam, you will see a big round-a-bout, go 12 o'clock (straight).
- After crossing a bridge (about 100m from the round-a-bout), look for the "U" signboard. Take a U-Turn now.
- Look for "Kampung Sinulihan" signboard on your left. Follow the signboard and you shall reach Larry & Vince's Farmstay!
